Looking Forward to 2018: Tips for a Great New Year!

Hello everyone!

Whether you’re the type of person to make elaborate new year resolutions, or the type that just wants to make it to January 1st, we can all make small changes to improve both our personal and professional lives. Check out some of our tips for a more fulfilling new year, and be sure to subscribe for helpful marketing hints in the new year!

1. If you’re going to make a resolution, be sure you can stick to it. Sure, it can be great to set a high goal for yourself to add more motivation. But, you need to make sure that the goal is at least somewhat attainable. Otherwise, if 2019 approaches and you’re nowhere near hitting your goal, you may feel less confident in your abilities. For example: you’re much more likely to find a way to increase your overall income by a certain percentage than to become a multimillionaire by the next year. It’s not impossible, of course – but the chances are much slimmer.

2. Rather than restrict yourself to a diet, indulge a bit less and balance a lot more. With all of the fad diets on the market that claim to make you lose X amount of weight or Y amount of fat, it can be hard to find a routine that works for you. However, if you decide to deprive your body of a certain food, there is a high likelihood that a craving will hit you out of the blue – and you could undo all of the “progress” that you’ve made. Instead, make some real progress by balancing your diet: if you absolutely must have that slice of cheesecake tonight, try sprinkling some fresh berries on top of it and add a salad to your dinner beforehand.

3. You’ve heard it before, but seriously: find time to exercise a few times a week. If you’re the type of worker who sits at a desk for nearly 8 hours a day, it is imperative that you find time to move those limbs! And not just to and from your car, or around your office during the day – you need to get your heart rate up! Even if it’s simply a brisk morning walk a few times a week, or going to your local gym just once or twice a week – you’ll feel better, stronger, and sharper, which will equip you to perform better at work.

4. Give your eyes (and your mind) a break – step away from the technology. In this digital age, it’s as if our smart phones have become our lifelines. As convenient as it is to have so much information tucked into a handheld device, sometimes you need to unplug! Turn your phone off, go outside, and take a deep breath of fresh air. Or, settle in with a good book. Or, if time permits, take a nice nap. Whatever it is that makes you happiest, take a break from the technological noise and tune in to what’s around you – you’ll thank yourself for it later.

5. Lastly, and most importantly: live in the moment and seize the day! Life is meant to be lived, and we can’t live it to the fullest if we are constantly dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Obviously, there are some aspects that must be planned for! But, once you have done all that you can do to prepare for an event, a presentation, or maybe even a big life decision; allow yourself to live in the moment, and trust that you have done your best.

Hopefully, these 5 tips serve you well in the new year! And if you’re interested in taking your brand to the next level in 2018, head on over to the Discover page and book a free discovery session with The C Perspective.
